Alligator is now Lenten Friendly?

Carnivores, Theologians, and Cajuns REJOICE! Apparently, this isn’t “new” news, but it’s still welcome news now that it has hit a grander scale. In accordance with the Catholic Church, Alligator is part of the reptile family which is close enough to fish where it gets a holy Thumbs Up! For those who may not know, Lent is the time between Ash Wednesday and Easter where it is a time of personal sacrifice, fasting, and, the most critical part for this blog post, no meat on Fridays. This of course is a gross over simplification of the season, but for now it will do. As part of the whole “Abstaining from Meat” part, Catholics are still allowed to consume fish and seafood in limited quantities. Recently on NPR, my fiance heard a story that blew my mind: Alligator is still allowed on the menu!  Continue reading Alligator is now Lenten Friendly?

Krieg, The Psycho Bandit! (And other BL2 DLC news)

** UPDATE – 5/6/2013 **

Gearbox has officially announced that Krieg will be released on May 15th. GET READY TO LIGHT THE FUSES!!!

And now, he has been officially announced! Much to my dismay, the new Borderlands 2 6th Character class will NOT be a TMNT themed lab rat, but that’s ok. As a new twist, the folks over at Gearbox will allow us to play as Krieg, a Psycho Bandit, complete with one of those freaky looking Buzz Axes! Check the new and updated trailer for the release:

So here we have Krieg who is obviously all sorts of ready to dole out some Pandoran Harshness. He is wielding a modified Buzz Axe in his right hand and his left has a bolted gauntlet that is connected to his back (I think?). He’s rocking the typical Psycho Bandit garb, which is essentially bare-chested desert punk, and has a gas-mask breather on top of his Borderlands inspired hockey mask. There’s really not much about this guy’s visage that doesn’t say “BEAT DOWNS FOR EVERYONE!!” Continue reading Krieg, The Psycho Bandit! (And other BL2 DLC news)

St. Baldrick’s Shave-a-thon 2013

Yep, that's pretty much the way you feel after the first time!
Yep, that’s pretty much the way you feel after the first time!

This is the first post to the “Philanthropy” catagory, and hopefully it will be far from my last. For this entry, I’ll be discussing my adventures in the St. Baldrick’s Shave-a-thons. The first question you would logically have is, “Saint who? Shave-a-wha!?!?”

It’s quite simple, really. Continue reading St. Baldrick’s Shave-a-thon 2013

6th Borderlands 2 Character Class

This will be the 6th playable character class to be released unto the anarchist chaos that is PANDORA! Well, Anarchist except for Handsome Jack, but….Or the Crimson Raiders, or The Firehawk to some extent, or The Slab king….oh never mind! Anyway, this will be Gearbox’s follow up to Gaige the Mechromancer (speaking of Anarchy) and her loveable most bad-ass Death Trap.

Apple Pie Moonshine, quite possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had!

My fiance recently came back from visiting her brother in Tennesee, and like any good mate we bring back each other gifts should we travel alone. Over the years, we have made it a hobby of ours to visit different breweries, wineries, and distilleries while in any given town to sample the local spirits. This time would prove no different.

While in Tennesee, she visited “Ole Smoky Moonshine” distillery in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I was not told much about the distillery in particular, as they all tend to blend in to each other after you’ve visited as many as we have. Still, this is a MOONSHINE distillery, something that we don’t typically have around the northeast! So naturally, she shoots me an email at the office with a link to their online store and tells me, “If there’s something that you want, let me know.” Continue reading Apple Pie Moonshine, quite possibly the best dessert I’ve ever had!

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Trailer Response

***UPDATE – 5/19/13 – Ubisoft has released a new “Golden Age of Piracy” trailer. See our response HERE***

Oh what sweet period tale of stealth and existential conflict is THIS!?!?! A new Assassin’s Creed game, and this time it’s with PIRATES! Oh, this will be absolutely DELIGHTFUL!!!

But then…..why am I so apathetic to it’s news?

To fully understand where we are (and where I suspect we are going), lets first take a look at where we’ve been. Also note that this blog was written with the assumption that you have also played through the Assassin’s Creed (AC) series. This entry is going to be plenty long enough without the history and explanation of Desmond and Abstergo!
