Ranters! It is October 28st, 2013. For Sports Rants Gaming, I am Anthony Rossi, aka Hyp3rSint4x from the Coffee and Cornchips gaming blog with the C3 WiR(e), a week in review recap of the gaming world. This week’s headlines include:
- Titanfall has a release date!
- Saints Row 4 DLC: Enter the Dominatrix is out now
- Madden NFL 25 to receive title update #2
- TK Baha’s Bloody Harvest, The first Headhunter pack for Borderlands 2, is out!
Let the gaming news begin!
Titanfall, winner of over 75 awards, 63 of which coming from E3, finally has a release date! On March 11th, Players will be able to tear it up with some mechanized mayhem. In case you don’t know about Titanfall, imagine a near future FPS where the pilots are able to exit their mechs and parkour around a war-torn city with a jet pack. Head over to titanfall.com for more details and videos. Titanfall will be released on Xbox 306, Xbox One, and PC.
Just in case you haven’t had enough Saints Row, the latest DLC, Enter The Dominatrix, has arrived! Here, aside from getting more over the top Saints Row action, this DLC is designed as a “Behind The Scenes” type of experience. Also, we are again graced with the overly auto-tuned musings of Zimos, our beloved “Adult Entertainment Entrepreneur” from Saints Row: The Third. More Missions, More weapons, and lots of leather!
As per a blog post from EA Sports, Madden NFL 25 has gotten a list of updates. A few of the updates include:
- Improved stability in all game modes
- Tuned in-game injuries where were occurring too frequently
- Tuned ratings for inported draft classes
- Fixed an exploit where users could make trades after week 8 from the web
- Reinstated touchdown celebrations in all online game modes
- Fixed issue where Vikings Stadium overlay would show unrealistically low temperatures and heavy snow during the preseason
TK Baha’s Blood Harvest is out for Borderlands 2! As mentioned last week, This is the first of four headhunter packs that Gearbox is set to turn out of the game. Over the past week, Anthony DiMoro and I were able to give it a go, and our verdict on the whole is, “Meh”. The thing that players need to understand is that these new packs are not intended to be major campaign expansions, hence the 2.99 pricetag. However, even at the reduced rate we did not feel completely satisfied with the experience. It wasn’t that long of a mission, contained only a single map, and wasn’t all that difficult. We also need to keep in mind that we are playing this after coming off of Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, which was absolutely EPIC! What these headhunter packs ultimately amount to is a new character head that you have to work for. If you’re a diehard who wants to have every little bit of Pandora that they can possibly crammed on to you system, then rock it out. Just don’t expect a return like you did with the other DLCs. Personally, I’ll be letting the other 3 pass by while holding on to my dollars for Next Gen games.
Which Next Gen game will I be starting with? Here’s a hint: It’s a Pirate’s life for me!
